二級教授,博士生導師,獲國務院政府特殊津貼,入選國家高層次人才計劃、湖北省公共衛生領軍人才和教育部新世紀優秀人才。兼國家職業健康标準專業會委員、中華預防醫學會勞動衛生與職業病分會常務委員、湖北省預防醫學會勞動衛生與職業病專業委員會主任委員等。全國高等學校教材《職業衛生與職業醫學》(第九版,人衛社)第一主編,國家一流本科課程《職業衛生與職業醫學》主講教師,牽頭團隊2023年入選校優秀研究生導師團隊。

主要研究方向:環境污染物的健康危害及預防策略研究,重點關注生産性粉塵和空氣污染物的心肺健康危害。先後主持國家基礎研究973課題、國家自然科學基金重點和面上項目、科技部重點研發課題等,牽頭或參與起草10餘項國家職業衛生标準。2014年獲國家科技進步二等獎(排名第一)、2007年湖北省科技進步一等獎各1項(排名第一),獲省部級二等獎2項。第一或通訊作者發表論文300餘篇,SCI收錄200餘篇,包括Lancet、Am J Resp Crit Care、Diabetes Care、Euro Resp J、PLoS Med、J Hazard Mater、Thorax、Chest、Environ Int等國際一流期刊。
